Corey Davis Holdout??
I understand the offsetting language, other stipulations, and guarantees Davis' agent is wanting to get squared away for him but I feel it is kind of a moot point because of how the draftees ahead of him agreed upon their contracts accordingly. It may be a bit unfair but the expectations of contract negotiations are usually set by the top draft choice. And going with the precedent set by Garrett and his representation is it fair to say Davis' holdout will even benefit him contractually?? Or because he was the top receiver, will he actually have some sort of leverage in determining all the minute details?? Regardless he still has a 16+ million signing bonus. So, at this point the only thing the holdout is doing is holding him back from MUCH NEEDED time with the Titans' offense...especially Marcus Mariota, who is participating in limited action for now.
How long do we think he holds out for?? I'm worried he misses a good portion of Training Camp in a best case scenario situation. But seeing as his representation is the same Joey Bosa has, this could end up being far worse than we are prepared for. I'm high on Davis but I honestly don't think he'll be a major contributor initially. Ultimately the time wasted on contract jargon may set him back further than he'll be prepared or able to make up ground for. That worries me because this is a very important year for the Titans organization. Now is not the time for silly, avoidable distractions.
